Busy Busy month of January…..
The busy month of January is behind us, but don’t believe February wont bring just as much excitement! We want to extend another warm welcome to our new member Ewart Brown! He will be a wonderful asset to the club! We currently have 2 potential members… hopefully by the end of the month they’ll be fellow Kiwanians as well! We are still collecting Spam for the Aware Food Bank.. we set a goal of 500 and are currently at 139, so keep them coming guys! Before those head off to the food bank they will be used to anchor down the Luminaries at this years Relay for Life… So very important that we try and reach that goal! In January our Community Service Committee decided to take on another project. We are now collecting clothing items for Mary & Elizabeth’s clothes closet, focusing mainly on socks and new underwear(must be NEW and packaged). This is a wonderful non profit organization that Elizabeth herself started, collecting clothing items from the community and distributing them back to children in need. We are so happy to help in any way we can! So far our club has collected 163 pairs of sock, 66 pairs of underwear and 24 t-shirts! Great job guys! Keep up the good work! As you’ll see on the Calendar this years Doernbecher’s Day will be on February 20th. Visiting Doernbechers Children Hospital is a thing we do yearly, its so important to actually see and work with what Kiwanis is all about.. Children. The sign up sheet will be going around during our weekly meetings.. Hope to see you all there. Other than that thank you for an incredible January guys! Lets make February just as great! As always… Remember those glasses for SOS!
